The Moravians came to the United States in 1735 primarily to preach the gospel to the Indians. Although the Moravians had contacts with many Indian tribes, they did most of their work among the Delawares. They followed this tribe westward from Pennsylvania to Ohio, to Canada, to Indiana,and finally to Kansas.
